New roof installation Shropshire

A new roof is one of the most significant investments you will make in your home, and it pays to have it done properly. A roof installed to the highest standards with quality materials will protect your property for half a century or more, while a poorly installed roof will leak, sag and fail within a decade. Town & Country install new pitched roofs across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to BS 5534 standards, using only premium materials from trusted manufacturers.

Every new roof we install is a complete system: breathable underlay, preservative-treated battens, your choice of concrete tiles, clay tiles, natural slate or synthetic slate, lead flashings to all abutments and penetrations, and correct ridge and eaves ventilation. We do not cut corners on the components you cannot see, because those are the ones that determine how long the roof will last.

We understand that having your roof replaced is disruptive, and we work hard to minimise the impact on your daily life. The works area is protected with tarpaulins and scaffolding, debris is cleared daily, and we keep you informed at every stage. Most residential roofs are completed in three to five days, and your home remains watertight throughout the process.

Why choose new roofs

The benefits in detail

Concrete & clay tiles

We install Marley, Redland and Sandtoft tile systems in a full range of profiles and colours, from traditional plain tiles to modern interlocking concrete tiles.

Natural slate roofs

For the ultimate in durability and kerb appeal, natural Welsh or Spanish slate delivers a crisp, elegant roof that can last 100 years or more.

Breathable membrane & ventilation

Every new roof includes a breathable underlay and correct ridge and eaves ventilation, preventing condensation build-up that can rot timbers from within.

Treated timber battens

We use only preservative-treated roofing battens graded to BS 5534, fixed to the correct gauge for your chosen tile, ensuring the structure remains sound for decades.

Lead & flashing work

All valleys, abutments, chimneys and roof penetrations are weathered with code 3, 4 or 5 lead sheet, installed by experienced lead workers to BS 6915.

25-year guarantee

Our new roof installations are backed by a 25-year workmanship guarantee, in addition to the manufacturer warranties on tiles, membrane and components.

Got questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Signs that a roof may need replacement rather than repair include: numerous slipped, cracked or missing tiles; sagging of the roofline; daylight visible through the roof from inside the loft; water stains on ceilings despite repeated repairs; and a roof that is more than 60-70 years old. We offer a free roof inspection and will give you an honest assessment of whether repair or replacement is the better option.

A typical semi-detached house roof is stripped and re-roofed in three to five working days, weather permitting. Larger detached properties and complex roof shapes take longer. We protect your property with tarpaulins and waterproof sheeting throughout the works, so your home remains watertight even if the job spans several days.

Concrete interlocking tiles are the most cost-effective option and are extremely durable, lasting 40-50 years. Clay tiles are more expensive but offer superior colour permanence (they will not fade), a longer lifespan (60+ years) and a warmer, more traditional appearance. For period properties, clay plain tiles are usually the sympathetic choice. For modern homes, concrete interlocking tiles offer excellent value.

Yes. Synthetic slate products such as Edgemere and TapcoSlate offer the appearance of natural slate at a lower cost and with easier installation. They are lightweight, recyclable and come with a 40-year manufacturer warranty. For properties where the roof structure cannot support the weight of natural slate, synthetic slate is an excellent alternative.

A new roof is one of the most valuable home improvements you can make. It improves kerb appeal, eliminates the risk of water damage, and provides peace of mind to potential buyers. According to property surveys, a new roof can add 10-15% to the value of a home and significantly speed up a sale, as buyers are wary of properties with old or problematic roofs.
