Fascia & soffit replacement and repair
Fascias and soffits are the unsung heroes of your roofline. These boards, running along the lower edge of the roof, protect the roof timbers from rain and wind, support the guttering, and provide the ventilation that prevents condensation in your loft. When they fail, the consequences are serious: rotting rafters, water ingress into the wall plate, and damage to the guttering system.
Many homes across Shropshire still have original timber fascias and soffits that were installed decades ago. While quality timber can last 20-30 years if well maintained, most eventually succumb to wet rot, particularly on the unseen underside. UPVC replacement is the modern solution - a weatherproof, paint-free, rot-proof system that lasts 30 to 40 years with zero maintenance beyond an occasional wash.
We install full UPVC replacement fascias and soffits from Freefoam, Eurocell and Hopwell, in white, woodgrain and solid colour finishes. Where the existing timber is completely sound, we can cap with UPVC over-board for a more economical refresh. Every installation includes ventilated soffits to meet Building Regulations, and we can fit new guttering and downpipes at the same time for a complete roofline refurbishment.
Why choose fascias & soffits
The benefits in detail
Full UPVC replacement
We remove rotten timber fascias and soffits completely and install new UPVC boards over treated timber backing, giving you a weatherproof, paint-free eaves that lasts decades.
Capped boards
Where existing timber is sound, we can cap with UPVC over-board rather than full replacement - a more economical option that still delivers the low-maintenance UPVC finish.
White, woodgrain & colours
UPVC fascias and soffits are available in white, golden oak and rosewood woodgrain finishes, and a range of solid colours to complement your property's exterior.
Ventilated soffits
We install ventilated soffit boards that provide the eaves ventilation your roof needs to prevent condensation in the loft, meeting current Building Regulations.
New guttering included
Fascia replacement is the ideal time to renew your guttering and downpipes. We can fit new UPVC gutters as part of the same job, ensuring a perfect fit to the new boards.

Frequently Asked Questions
The fascia is the vertical board that runs along the lower edge of the roof, to which the guttering is attached. The soffit is the horizontal board that bridges the gap between the fascia and the wall, enclosing the eaves. Together they protect the roof timbers from weather and provide ventilation to the loft space.
If the existing timber is rotten, warped or badly affected by wet rot, it must be fully removed and replaced with new UPVC over a treated timber backing. If the timber is completely sound, capping with UPVC over-board is a more economical option. We inspect the timber during the site survey and recommend the best approach - we will not cap over rotten wood.
Quality UPVC fascias and soffits have a life expectancy of 30 to 40 years with no painting or treatment required. The colour is integral to the material, so it will not peel or flake, and the UPVC is UV stabilised to resist yellowing. An occasional wash with soapy water is all the maintenance needed.
We strongly recommend replacing guttering when the fascias are being replaced, as the guttering has to be removed to access the fascia board anyway. Installing new UPVC guttering and downpipes at the same time ensures a perfect fit to the new boards and gives you a fully refreshed, weatherproof eaves. We can include this in the quote.
Yes. As well as standard white, we install UPVC fascias and soffits in golden oak and rosewood woodgrain finishes, and in a range of solid colours including anthracite grey, black and cream. Coloured UPVC is increasingly popular on modern properties and extensions where white would look too stark.
